Ned Azemia to compete in 400m hurdles in Doha

 

Seychellois 400m hurdler Ned Azemia is representing Seychelles in the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Azemia is being accompanied by coach Lynda Jeanne.

The IAAF World Athletics Championships will be held between tomorrow, Friday September 27 and Sunday October 6, 2019 at the renovated multi-purpose Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.

IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 has confirmed that more than 1,972 athletes (1,054 men and 918 women) from 210 teams will be in action in the Qatari capital.

Azemia will be in action on the first day of competition tomorrow in the heats when he will be vying for a place in Saturday’s semifinals. The final is slated for Monday September 30, 2019.

He holds the Seychelles 400m hurdles record of 50.74 seconds which he set on August 15, 2016 during the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the last Indian Ocean Island Games in Mauritius in July 2019, Azemia clocked 51.55 seconds in the 400m hurdles to take first place and the gold medal.
