Kevin Hermitte, Zia Rizvi outshine the field

Last weekend saw a great turnout for the Takamaka Pairs Open, with many duos battling to claim the win.

Takamaka owners, the D’offay brothers Richard and Bernard, avid golfers themselves, have always supported the golfing scene at the Seychelles Golf Club, so it was fitting to have this pairs event for 2023.

After round 1pm on Saturday, Kevin Hermitte and Zia Rizvi shot a sublime 51 Stableford points in the Four-ball format to have a slender lead over Alex Ellenberger and Francis Mondon with 47 points, sitting joint third on 44 points were the two pairings of Andre Morin/Paul Latulippe and Gibran Rizvi/Ken Zhou.

The rest of field had still a chance on Sunday in the Foursome format which is undoubtedly one of the hardest formats as it really tests the ability of both players and they need to combine well.

Sunday morning started off with a rainy spell but it did not dampen the players’ spirit as they performed to their best. The pair of Axel Andrade and Jemmy Esther performed the best on that day with 39 points, putting them in a second-place podium finish.

Guy Adam and Godefroy Andrade also came in with the second best score on that day, putting them in overall third, while Hermitte and Rizvi played steady and managed to keep their lead over the rest to take the overall win.

The organisers would like to thank Takamaka Bay and to congratulate Richard D’Offay and his wife Retha who were present to give the prizes on the day of their wedding anniversary.
