Another win for Jean-Yves Souyave

After recently dominating the 26km individual time trial and the 110km road race, Jean-Yves Souyave added another victory to his name, winning the 117km circuit race hosted by L’Union Cycliste des Seychelles last Sunday.

In the absence of members of the national selection who are presently at the World Cycling Centre in Western Cape in South Africa, preparing for the upcoming 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games in August, Souyave, who is now riding for the North Coast Riders (NCR), clocked 3 hours, 4 minutes 48 seconds (3h04:48) to finish the 117km race first, finishing ahead of Bertrand Lesperance of the Option Max Cycling Club (OMCC) who was second in 3h05:23.

Jayden Sinon of the Vélo Club de l’Ouest (VCDL) finished the circuit race third overall in 3h10:45, pushing Leeroy Labiche of the OMCC into fourth place, having also registered a time of 3h10:45, similar to fifth-place finisher and teammate Yohan Monthy.

Ricky Rosalie, who rides for the NCR, was the sixth cyclist to cross the finish line, clocking 3h11:01, finishing ahead of teammate Edrick Roucou who was seventh overall in 3h12:05.

Jeff Esparon of the OMCC clocked 3h16:52 to finish eighth overall, while NCR’s Lario Harrison, Trevor Malvina and Lauren Jacques of the VCDL Academy, along with individual rider Emanuel Sullivan did not complete the race.

The OMCC finished as the best team with a time of 9h 26.53, ahead of second-placed NCR who accumulated 9h:27.54 to finish second.
