Pointe Larue boys secure second place

• La Digue girls dominate in match against Praslin

Last week’s football matches in the Seychelles Schools’ Premier League delivered some surprising results, with Mont Fleuri pegged back by Pointe Larue in the boys’ league, while La Digue outplayed Praslin in the girls’ league.

Pointe Larue put three goals past Mont Fleuri, knocking the latter from second to third place on the table.

Plaisance, proudly wearing the colours of Liverpool, maintained their position at the top of the table, earning yet another three points after their match 3-1 win against Anse Boileau (West Ham).

The fixture of the week, however, was a five-goal thriller that saw Anse Royale (Leicester City) eventually getting the better of Anse Boileau (West Ham) with a 3-2 victory.

Still adapting to the league, the French School (Nottingham Forest) was no match to the skills of English River, as the latter dominated the game, winning 8-0.

On the girls’ side, the week began with a Praslin (Brighton) vs La Digue (Norwich) match on Praslin. Maintaining their unbeaten record, La Digue strolled to victory, beating Praslin 8-0.

Meanwhile, on Mahe, the Plaisance (Liverpool) girls mirrored the success of the boys’ team, beating English River (Aston Villa) 5-2.

In the match between International School and Independent School, it was International school who celebrated victory, defeating their opponents 2- 0.

Pointe Larue now sit only one point behind Mont Fleuri on the league table after their match last Friday, where they secured a remarkable 4-1 win.
