The STC supports Team Seychelles with partial airfare coverage

For the upcoming 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games scheduled to take place in Madagascar from August 23 to September 3, the Seychelles Trading Company is among those ensuring the safe flight of Team Seychelles to and from the Games.

This is through an assistance worth R100,000 which will go towards the airfares.

In a small ceremony held on Tuesday at the company’s head office at Latanier Road, deputy chief executive of the Seychelles Trading Company (STC) David Jean-Baptiste handed over the cheque to chief executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) Marc Arissol.

Mr Jean-Baptiste noted that the help comes from a special budget set aside by the company to support the community, and organisations as part of its commitment to make a difference within the society.

Mr Jean-Baptiste added that since the youth occupies a huge portion of the community, with the approval of the board, they concluded that sport plays a vital role in youth development.

Therefore, with the upcoming Indian Ocean Islands Games (IOIG) came the perfect opportunity to support the youth by assisting with the athletes’ airfares.
