Three silver, three bronze medals on day two

During yesterday’s second day of the swimming competition at the 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games, Team Seychelles won six more medals, precisely three silver and three bronze.

The silver medals came courtesy of Felicity Passon in the 50m butterfly where she clocked 28.54 seconds, Adam Moncherry also in the 50m butterfly where he finished second in 25.2 seconds.

Seychelles’ third silver medal came from handisport athlete Frederick Gappy in the 50m freestyle where he clocked 33.40 seconds.

The bronze medals were from Passon in the 100m backstroke where she finished third in 1 minute 5.64 seconds (1:5.64), Simon Bachman in the 400m freestyle where he clocked 4:13.76 to finish third, and the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay team of Passon, Moncherry, Bachman and Khema Elizabeth who finished third in 3:59.14.

On the first day of competition on Saturday, Seychelles won four silver medals and a bronze.

The silver medalists were Felicity Passon in the 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly, Simon Bachman in the 200m freestyle, and the female 4x100m relay team.

The bronze medals came from Bachman in the 100m butterfly and the men’s 4x100m relay team.

The swimming competition continues today.
