Commissioner Pierre Rosario Domingue resigned prior to the hearings | 10 October 2019

In an interview given earlier this week, the Truth, Reconciliation and National Unity Commission chairperson Gabrielle McIntyre noted the resignation of commissioner Pierre Rosario Domingue, a Mauritian national who had been sworn in but resigned just prior to the hearings.

Ms McIntyre however assured that as per the Act, the commission is well constituted and is not looking to fill the vacancy.

She also noted that the commission is hoping to hear more cases during this session. Ten complaints were heard during the first session.
