11th Indian Ocean Islands Games: Swimming day five

Another gold medal for Simon Bachmann on last day of competition

 

  •              Three additional bronze and one silver for Team Seychelles

 

Yesterday was the last day of the swimming competition at the ongoing 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games in Madagascar where local swimmer Simon Bachmann concluded in style, winning his third gold medal at the Games.

Bachmann won gold in the 400m individual medley where he clocked 4 minutes 41.44 seconds (4:41.44) to finish first and take the gold medal.

Team Seychelles also won one silver and three bronze medals yesterday.

In the men’s 50m freestyle Amos Ferley clocked 24.20 seconds to clinch the silver medal.

The three bronze medals were won by Felicity Passon in the 50m freestyle where she finished third in 27.20 seconds, Sofie Frichot in the 800m freestyle, clocking 10:19.30, and Angelina Smythe in the 400m individual medley where she finished third in 5:38.70.

In total, Team Seychelles won 27 medals – 4 gold, 12 silver, and 11 bronze – in the swimming competitions at the 11th Games.
