The Seychelles Tennis Association has been nominated for the prestigious 'Highly Commended' award as part of the International Tennis (ITF) Advantage All Reward and Recognition Programme.

This recognition comes after a thorough evaluation of all the applications received from all countries, highlighting the Association's commendable efforts in promoting gender equality.

The Seychelles Tennis Association (STA) has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering gender equality within its federation. Its dedication to this important cause has not gone unnoticed, and ITF was proud to highlight its achievements.

As part of this well-deserved recognition, the STA will receive a cash prize of US $1000.

This prize is intended to contribute towards the development of gender equality initiatives or to support attendance at industry conferences or seminars.

The association can expect further exposure through the Gender Equality in Tennis project or initiative, which will showcase its work on the ITF website.

Additionally, the STA will receive publicity through ITF publications and social media channels. It will also have the opportunity to be featured in future ‘Advantage All’ case studies and webinars.

“We are delighted to nominate the STA for this highly respected award,” Katrina Adams, vice-president of ITF and Chair of the ‘Advantage All’ commission, a commission on which Fatime Kanté, president of local tennis association, is a member.

She added that the STA’s commitment to promoting gender equality is inspiring, and the ITF believes the efforts will inspire others to follow.

“We look forward to witnessing its continued progress and further initiatives in the future,” she added.

Miss Kanté noted that the STA is honoured to be recognised for its dedication to gender equality in tennis, and it is determined to use this award as a stepping stone towards even greater achievements in this field.

The ITF is the governing body of tennis worldwide.

It aims to promote and develop the sport while upholding the values of integrity, diversity, and equality. Through initiatives such as the Advantage All Reward and Recognition Programme, the ITF recognises outstanding efforts within the tennis community to create positive change.
