Karate - Northern Tang Soo Do team head to Netherlands for European Championship

The Northern Tang Soo Do team left yesterday morning on board Emirates Airline for the Netherlands to take part in the World Tang Soo Do Association’s European Championship set to take place from October 24-26.

The team comprise 15 competitors, four parents and Master James Faure who is heading the delegation and will also serve as an international judge during the championship.

Apart from competition, the karatekas will take part in clinics organised both for Gup (colour belt holders) and Dan (black belt holders).

The karatekas who have made the trip are Jean-Paul Philo (third dan black belt), Mastura Shah-Faure (second dan black belt), Martin Cedras (second dan black belt), Louis Vidot (second dan black belt), Joseph Bibi (second dan black belt), Jahvis Bernard (first dan black belt), Che Benoiton (first dan black belt), Steve Marie (first dan black belt), David Boniface (1st Gup), Lindy Bedier (1st Gup), Daniel Bedier (1st Gup), Tara Michel (2nd Gup), Dean Athanase (3rd Gup), Justine Madeleine (3rd Gup), Alvin Bistoquet (3rd Gup).

This is the second time the Northern Tang Soo Do team take part in the European Championship. The first time was in 2017 when the team brought back home a total of 27 medals.

The team are expected back on October 29.
