President Danny Faure has met the Mauritian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Nandcoomar Bodha, in Nairobi, Kenya in the margins of the 9th ACP Heads of State and Government Summit.

It was an occasion for President Faure to congratulate Minister Bodha on his re-appointment after the peaceful and democratic elections of November 7, 2019.

President Faure was apprised of the joint commission meeting between Mauritius and Seychelles scheduled to be held in 2020. A wide range of topics will be discussed from law enforcement cooperation, notably capacity building for law enforcement officers, and the Blue Economy to maritime security, including collaboration in countering drug trafficking in the Indian Ocean.

The two sides agreed to work together and with the IOC (Indian Ocean Commission) to make the region an area of excellence for the development of the Blue Economy.
