Wishes for 2020 from our readers! |06 January 2020

2020 started on a good note with new goals, fresh ambitions and a better future. The long holiday helped many to spend some quality time with their families and friends and Seychelles NATION once again contacted our readers to know about their wishes for this new year. Happy reading and happy New Year 2020!

Marie-France Racombo-Kilindo:

“My wish is for good health, more love, peace and tolerance among one another.

Annisa Jolicoeur (currently studying at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation in Malaysia):

“I celebrated the festive season away from the family but with my friends in Malaysia. We went to visit the Petronas twin towers, one of Malaysia’s most popular landmarks. I also went street dining, which has been a new experience and exploration. During the festive season, I mostly missed my family especially my mother. I missed the way I used to celebrate Christmas at home, the gifts, the ambiance and the love of my family, itself. Being far away for the next three years will be extremely hard for me but with the few people I have supporting me here in Malaysia, I believe I will have a wonderful time.

Lydie Morel:

“Unfortunately I don't believe in New Year's wish... I always pay attention to December 31 rather than January 1. I never wish for anything as I know it’s not coming to pass. For me, the 31st makes more sense...because I know where I came from, I know I've lived the full year and I know my mistakes and strong point throughout the year and so I celebrate each year on its last day. It helps me to take the coming year with a different perspective and also one day at a time.”

Mariam Prosper:

“I am currently at Sunway University studying international hospitality management. I am for sure missing the family during this season but my friends and I had dinner and roamed the city streets in Kuala Lumpur. My wish for 2020 is that humans understand we are from the same God and we need to be united. The wars have to stop and we need to protect the environment.”

Nathalie Houarau:

“My wish is that the good Lord blesses my grandpa with great health and I pray that he lives to blow out his 100 candles and that he continues to bless us with his presence.”

Ingrid Sinon:

“Well my wishes are to continuously improve myself and make a difference in the country.”

Jovaleine Didon:

“So many things happened in 2019 but I will continue to take brave and faithful steps with God grace and blessings…I will continue to walk in the light even though I have no idea what this year will hold for me… striving for excellence and being the best mother for my 3 kids... To have a home of my own and continue giving the best of me...”

Philip Morel:

“My wish for 2020 is that each and every individual treats one another better and starts doing good in the sense that we all take our responsibilities seriously in order to make this world and our country better than it is today.”

Elaine Montalban:

“On a personal basis my family always comes first hence I would like to just have a healthy and peaceful year so that I can continue to have the physical and mental strength to be there for my 3 girls as the mother that they need and come to for love and guidance.”

Savita Parekh:

“My wish for 2020 is for people around the world to unite. Stop all the fighting and hate. Care for one another. Have more tolerance for one another. Seselwa we need to learn to be civilised. Stop hating and being jealous. Let us work together as a team where we can make this country better for everyone. Learn to have respect for the environment, our surroundings and towards all living things. Together we can make a difference and make things happen.”

Julienne Madeleine:

“My wish is to have peace in our country and to continue working hard to achieve what I have started. Taking care of children is also my priority.”

Julie Florentine:

“What is my wish? Lol… not pretty sure. For 2020 I am hoping to achieve greater heights in my professional life and to overcome some challenges I faced in 2019. My greatest wish is to complete my house so I can have a more secure family and to live happily with my children.”

Hitcham Hoareau:

“My wish for 2020 is for the youth to be more attentive to what is going on around them, to try and think positive and start acting positive because having a positive country means more development. Another wish is that I want us Seychellois(e) to unite more be it with different political views or religious views or our race. I hope that all Seychellois(e) prosper a lot in this year and the youths to take every opportunity available to them, go search for opportunities don’t let them come to you, because there are many opportunities available it’s us the youths that need to wake up and search for them or work for them.

Meilleurs vœux a tous!!! »

Shamira Pillay:

“For the year 2020, I want to achieve the goals I’ve set. I also want to pursue new experiences, learn more, meet new people so as to allow me to grow as a person, nourish my soul and become a better version of myself. This year I hope to see life in a more optimistic perspective, face negativity head on and conquer each task with everything I got, with the support of God, my family and friends. So my wish for 2020 is for everyone to be happy so that the world can become a better place.”
