‘Seychelles is an extraordinary place with an incredible nature’

“Seychelles is an extraordinary place with a melting pot of people and incredible nature.”

This is how CNN International Anchor Richard Quest has described Seychelles. He was talking to local journalists after paying a courtesy call on President Danny Faure at State House yesterday morning.

The popular CNN Anchor is currently in Seychelles on a five-day filming tour for CNN TV show ‘Quest’s World of Wonder’.

Welcoming Mr Quest to State House yesterday, President Faure commended him for the amazing work that he is doing through his extensive media career not only for CNN but for the good of humanity.

During the meeting, the President and Mr Quest discussed a wide range of topics related to tourism, climate change and the liberalisation of LGBTQ rights in Seychelles as well as the economy in general.

Mr Quest also took the opportunity to brief President Faure on the highlights of his filming programme in Seychelles and the various extraordinary sites he visited during his tour.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Mr Quest described Seychelles as “an extraordinary place with melting pot of people and incredible nature” and how he has always wanted to come to Seychelles. When the work opportunity arose to film the show in Seychelles he was delighted to be granted the chance to showcase to the world what Seychelles is really about.

While in Seychelles aside from the numerous shooting locations which namely included sites on Mahé, Bird Island, Vallée de Mai on Praslin and La Digue, Mr Quest also held discussions with the Minister for Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning, Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, and the Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Didier Dogley.

Mr Quest, who was accompanied on his visit to State House by Minister Dogley, left Seychelles yesterday evening.

Meanwhile, Mr Quest’s interview with Minister Loustau-Lalanne was aired yesterday evening on ‘Quest Means Business’ whereas the Seychelles segment for ‘Quest’s World of Wonder’ is expected to be aired in April 2020.

Richard Austin Quest is an English journalist and a CNN International Anchor. He is also CNN Business Editor at Large, based in New York City. He anchors ‘Quest Means Business’, the five-time-weekly business programme and fronts the CNN shows ‘Business Traveller’, ‘The Express’ and ‘Quest’s World of Wonder’.
