26-year-old female gets four years for possession of controlled drug |19 March 2020

A 26-year-old unemployed female Seychellois, Everlonne Valerie Sauzier has been sentenced by the Supreme Court to four years imprisonment for possession of a controlled drug.

Sauzier, a resident of Anse Aux Pins, pleaded guilty to the charges against her and in return received the following prison terms for her convictions.

For possession of a controlled drug, 29.3 grammes of cannabis resin (hashish), one-year imprisonment and for possession of 31.8 grammes of heroin (having 15.5 grammes purity) three years imprisonment.

She was arrested by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) of the Seychelles Police Force on February 14, 2018 in possession of the mentioned drugs.

Both terms of her sentences will run concurrently.
