Cabinet considers legal memoranda related to COVID-19 pandemic |24 March 2020

President Danny Faure chaired an extra-ordinary meeting of the cabinet on Saturday March 21, at which a number of legal memoranda related to the COVID-19 pandemic were considered.

Cabinet approved proposals for a new 2020 budget in line with the new measures to respond to the COVID 19pandemic.

Cabinet also approvedamendments to the Central Bank Act 2004 and the Financial Institutions Act 2004 to address the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy and financial system.

Cabinet approved a framework to guide private and public sector employers in implementation of the social distancing measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
