Clinton Foundation not building any floating solar plant in Seychelles |19 June 2019

The Clinton Foundation (CF) is NOT building any floating solar plant in Seychelles contrary to what was written in our article entitled ‘Clinton Foundation to build floating solar project in Seychelles’published in the edition of Monday June 17, 2019.

News that the Clinton Foundation belonging to former United States of America President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary is to build a floating solar project in Seychelles, was published by the World Tribune on June 12, 2019.

The Seychelles Energy Commission (Sec) has said that the Seychelles government through Sec is building the floating solar plant and this is being done with support from African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) and Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI). ALSF is financing the technical and legal support which are being carried out by Muliconsult and Trinity International respectively. CCI is only supporting the project team with implementation more specifically with the tender process.

An arm of the Clinton Foundation, the Clinton Climate Initiative develops scalable projects that can be tailored to local conditions while also serving as innovative models for tackling global climate change. This approach helps provide real-world demonstrations of how we can cut emissions while compressing the timeframe for delivering real progress.
