2020 voters’ register certified |01 April 2020

In accordance to Section 9 of the Elections Act 1995, the Electoral Commission Seychelles yesterday, March 31, 2020, certified the 2020 voters’ register which was closed on December 31, 2019.

This certified register reflects all changes made in 2019 only and not any changes made since January 1, 2020. Any changes made from January 1, 2020 will appear on the register certified immediately prior to the 2020 elections.

The register certified on March 31, 2020 will be available for verification by members of the public via the SMS platform 9600 (send NIN without characters and receive a confirmation text) and on the Electoral Commission Seychelles website www.ecs.sc. A copy will also be circulated to all registered political parties.

A physical copy of the register will be available for inspection by voters upon review of the COVID-19 measures in line with advisory from the department of health.

In this election year the Electoral Commission Seychelles wishes to further re-iterate the need for all voters to be election ready and hence encourages voters to verify that their details are correct as per the new register through the means stated above.
