Four men sentenced in Stephen Mondon drug case |04 April 2020

The Supreme Court yesterday sentenced four men on their own guilty plea in the 2017 Stephen Mondon drug case.

Stephen Marshal Mondon, an unemployed 29-year-old resident of Anse Forbans, Mahé, has been sentenced to 8 years imprisonment for the offence of importation of a controlled drug.

Guy Pierre Hall, a 50-year-old accountant of Beau Vallon, 6 years imprisonment for the offence of aiding and abetting trafficking in of a controlled drug.

Philip Arthur Joseph Marzocchi, a 66-year-old skipper captain of Providence, Mahé, 5 years imprisonment for the offence of trafficking in of a controlled drug.

Marcus Rodney LOUYS, a 30-year-old causal worker of Glacis, 5 years imprisonment for the offence of aiding and abetting trafficking in of a controlled drug.

They were all arrested in August 2017 by the then NDEA agents in connection to 33.8553 kilogrammes of cannabis resin (hashish) which Stephen Mondon imported into Seychelles on August 13, 2017.

Their time spent on remand will be deducted on their prison sentence.

They were all on remand since the date of their arrest.
