Man on remand faces multiple drug charges |24 April 2020
The Magistrate Court has remanded for five days a 36-year-old male skipper of Belonie who is facing multiple charges for the following offences which he committed upon his arrest:
1. Trafficking in a controlled drug
2. Possession of a controlled drug
3. Possession of a controlled drug with intend to traffic
4. Obstruction of justice
5. Official corruption (try to bribe ANB officers)
6. Money laundering
The man was arrested on Wednesday this week by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) of the Seychelles Police Force, when approximately 178 grammes of suspected heroin plus a digital scale and R201,350 in several denominations were found in his possession at his home at Belonie.
He will reappear before the court on Monday April 27, 2020.
