United Seychelles welcomes tentative election dates |08 June 2020

United Seychelles has welcomed the announcement of the tentative election dates of October 22, 23 and 24 set on June 5, 2020 by the Electoral Commission.

In a communiqué released on Saturday June 6, 2020, United Seychelles writes:

“We are fully engaged in this democratic process.

“The right to vote is one of our most important freedoms as individuals. In our modern world, one of the key principles defining credible elections is the fact that they reflect the free expression of the will of the people through the act of voting.

“Elections are crucial to the quality of a country’s governance and the direction setting a nation’s democratic development.

“Consequently, we are calling upon all citizens to verify that their names are on the voters’ list. Remember, voting gives each citizen the power to choose the right leader for Seychelles.

“We also appeal to all first time voters to register to vote. Voting secures your future and gives you a powerful say in how you want your country to be governed.”
