Drug trafficking offences Fourth suspect from Praslin remanded |27 June 2020

The Supreme Court has ordered the remand of a 26-year-old self-employed Praslinois of Anse Possession who is facing the charge for the offence of conspiracy to trafficking in a controlled drug.

He was arrested for this offence on June 24, 2020 at the Supreme Court Building. He is suspected to be connected to the 54.85 grammes of cocaine which was seized during the arrest of three other Praslinois on May 15, 2020, in the Cascade district by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) of the Seychelles Police Force.

To note, the three men were charged on May 25, 2020 with several counts of drug offences in this case and were granted bail on June 15, 2020 on strict conditions.

It was only yesterday, June 26, that the three accused were released after honouring the first bail condition which is a cash bail of R120,000 each and with two sureties each to sign a bond of R90,000/-.
