Covid-19 update |09 September 2020

‘No new cases reported from hotel,’ says Dr Gedeon

Public Health Commissioner Dr Jude Gedeon has quashed allegations that there are 15 new cases of Covid-19 in a hotel in the South.

Dr Gedeon noted that the health department is in regular contact with the hotel, which has its own medical team.

“So far the Public Health Authority/Health Care Agency have not received any calls from the management of the hotel. I would advise people to also state the source of such information so that we all know where it comes from,” stressed Dr Gedeon.

According to the latest press release issued last Sunday, Seychelles still has 10 active cases.

Members of the public are advised to maintain the practices of public health measures to limit the spread of Covid-19.

• Wash hands frequently with soap and water or sanitise with an alcohol-based hand rub.

• Maintain physical distance of 1m from others.

• Avoid crowded places.

• Wear a mask in public spaces and where there is a gathering of many people.
