Interhearts Montessori pre-primary school celebrates Teachers’ Day and Cancer month | 16 October 2020
Interhearts Montessori pre-primary school located at Roch Lane, Victoria celebrated Teachers’ Day and Cancer month in a unique activity. The staff, students and some parents came together to give support to one of the teachers who is currently a breast cancer patient.
The manager of the school, Nadine Andre, noted that “we have a teacher, Miss Marissa, who is a victim of breast cancer. We did not want to leave her out of the celebrations and decided to do a special activity with her. The students and the teachers got together and made some special crafts to show our love and compassion to Miss Marissa”.
The mission of the school is through education to help inculcate high moral values that will contribute towards the betterment of society. “We had a lunch for the teachers, where Miss Marissa could not attend and on Monday we decided to honour her. There were messages of hope and Miss Marissa shared her journey so far in battling the cancer. There was a sale of cupcakes where R2650 were raised including the contributions of parents. This token will help Miss Marissa in getting proper diet.
