SADC secretariat sends appreciation note to former President Faure |30 October 2020

Stergomena Lawrence Tax, executive secretary of the Southern African Development Community has on behalf of the organisation’s secretariat sent an appreciation note to former Seychelles President Danny Faure.

In the appreciation note dated October 27, 2020, Mrs Tax has thanked Mr Faure the contribution he has made to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) regional integration and development agenda, and in the consideration of democracy and the maintenance of peace and political stability in the region.

“The SADC region has greatly benefitted from your visionary leadership and contribution to the region over the years.

“May I applaud your Excellency, that under your leadership and your Excellency’s true commitment to democratic principles, the Republic of Seychelles has conducted peaceful presidential and National Assembly elections, with a smooth and peaceful transfer of power. SADC will forever cherish your leadership and remember you as a statesman, who upheld SADC democratic principles.

“I would like to wish your Excellency good health, and the very best in your future endeavours.

“Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
