United Seychelles, National Assembly pay tribute to former MNA Jeovana Charles |18 January 2021

The United Seychelles party and the National Assembly have paid tribute to former member of the National Assembly and US activist Jeovana Charles who passed away in the early hours of yesterday, Sunday January 17, 2021.

In its message of condolence, US writes:

“It is with great shock and sadness that members and supporters of United Seychelles have learned of the sudden passing of Mrs Jeovana Charles in the early morning of Sunday, January 17, 2021.

“Mrs Charles, or Madanm Charles as she was affectionately called, was a staunch member and leader of our Party. She will be remembered for her significant contributions, not only to the Party but also to her community and country, as a past elected member of the National Assembly for several years, and as a member of the current National Executive Committee of United Seychelles.

“US expresses its deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to Mrs Charles’ family, relatives and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.”

In a separate message, Speaker Roger Mancienne, on behalf of the National Assembly, writes:

“I convey the respect of the National Assembly of Seychelles for the memory of former member Mrs Jeovana Charles, who has passed away.

“We express a tribute to her service in this institution, for her contribution to the legislative work of our country and her representation of the constituency of Roche Caiman over many years.

“We convey our condolences to the family members she has left behind.

“May she rest in peace.”
