Covid-19 cases update |15 February 2021

62 new cases in two days

 

Sixty-two (62) new cases of Covid-19 were recorded during the weekend to bring the total number of cases recorded in Seychelles to 1,910.

All samples were taken on February 11 and 12, 2021. In fact, 18 new cases were recorded yesterday and 44 on Saturday.

Of the new cases, three are foreigners and 59 are Seychellois. Three are from La Digue and the remaining from Mahé.

A total of 215 cases ‒ 88 on Saturday and 133 yesterday ‒ met discharge criteria this weekend and have been discharged into convalescence. Among the figure of 215 are 177 Seychellois (102 on Sunday and 75 on Saturday) and 38 foreigners (31 on Sunday and seven on Saturday).

Everyone is advised to continue practice the different measures to stop the spread of Covid-19. Keep interactions to immediate households (the persons you live with) only and to not gather in crowds. Other measures to follow:

• Wear a mask in public places and where physical distancing cannot be maintained

• Practise hand hygiene regularly

• Avoid gatherings and crowds

• Avoid sharing objects

• Practise physical distancing of more than 1 metre.
