Two charged with drug trafficking and assault |20 February 2021
The Supreme Court on Thursday February 18, 2021 charged the 41-year-old boat-boy and the 37-year-old unemployed woman, both resident of Foret Noire, with the offence of trafficking in of a controlled drug and assault on a police officer. They were both arrested by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) of the Seychelles Police Force at their home on February 10, 2021 in possession of the approximate amount of the following suspected controlled drugs – 32g of heroin, 222g of cannabis resin (hashish), 178.19g of herbal cannabis and R102,000.00. They remain on remand and will reappear before the court on February 25, 2021.
