Beau Vallon resident wins Barclays’ VIP trip to South Africa

Vanessa Roseline and sister Marsha Brutus with Barclays’ MD Johan Van Schalkwyk

Vanessa Roseline from Beau Vallon is the proud winner of the recent Barclays’ Card Life Campaign of which her prize is a VIP experience for two in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Roseline, who will be travelling with her sister Marsha Brutus, received her airline tickets from Barclays’ managing director Johan Van Schalkwyk during a ceremony held on Friday at the Barclays headquarters.

The sisters are expected to jet off to South Africa’s biggest city this week.

Their VIP trip will include three nights stay in a luxury hotel, private limousine transfers, access to VIP venues, exclusive activities and gifts, a pair of sunglasses and a luxury watch.

Roseline and her sister will be living their best life splurging since they will also receive private shopping experiences and spending money.

They will also leave with an unforgettable memoir from a Kyalami Race Track experience.

The VIP trip comes after Barclays Bank launched a competition for its credit card customers in May which allowed customers who swiped their cards at any point-of-sale (POS) with the opportunity to win such an award.

“They contacted me while I was at work earlier this month and at first I thought it was a fraud because I had not been aware that Barclays was undertaking such a campaign,” Roseline said while describing the day she learned of the news.

“I was using my card as per usual; I use it everywhere I go because I hate walking around with cash,” she added.

“They told me I could take the trip with a friend or partner of my choice so I’m bringing my sister along and she will be receiving the same treatment as me. We are super excited; we’re talking limousines, red carpets – the whole celebrity treatment,” Roseline enthusiastically stated.

Roseline remarked that she would also be acting as an ambassador for Barclays, urging Seychellois to priorities debit and credit use over cash payments.

The brief prize-giving ceremony also saw the presence of the English Premier League campaign winner, 30-year-old Handrick Jean.

Jean recently had the once in a lifetime opportunity to watch the Arsenal-Brighton English Premier League match live in the UK. He met with Arsenal’s former player and legend, and French World Cup winner, Robert Pirès.

These campaigns form part of Barclays’ initiative to promote the uptake of credit and debit cards nationwide for a safer and more secure banking experience.
