| Project to boost e-learning in Seychelles - 23.03.2009
E-learning in Seychelles is to get a boost through a project to identify gaps in the system and propose a way to improve it. The project, funded by the Small States Network for Economic Development (SSNED), also involves training Seychellois teachers in Mauritius.
Its service provider is the University of Mauritius through its Virtual Centre for Innovative Learning Technologies, working closely with the National Institute of Education in Seychelles.
The project involves drawing up a technical report to identify institutional gaps in e-learning, and the Ministry of Education said it is a practical example of how small states can help each other in capacity building.
The SSNED is committed to ease the exchange of “best practices” among small states, to promote the increased integration of the interests of small states into the policies and programmes of the international community, and to carry out or support action to further the sustainable development of members.
