| UK team prepare for World Travel Market - 07.11.2009
Two more Seychelles Tourism Board staff have travelled overseas, this time bound for the UK, as part of the programme to empower its young professionals.
Stephanie Medor and Lorraine Louis are now in London to take part in the process of organising and setting up Seychelles’ presence at the World Travel Market (WTM), which will be held there soon.
They join Fiona Lane, the newly appointed manager of the Seychelles UK Office, to coordinate the logistics for Seychelles. Both Stephanie and Lorraine, who have been responsible for the UK market at the STB’s head office at Bel Ombre, have been earmarked to work alongside Ms Lane with the relaunch of Seychelles in the UK.
After the WTM, they will take part in a Seychelles tourism workshop before returning home.
The director of tourism marketing, Alain St Ange, has said that the STB is committed to the further development of its key staff with the aim of preparing PR, sales and marketing managers for the country’s hospitality industry.
“We shall give them opportunities for networking and for experience gathering,” he said. “This we need to do if we truly believe that our tourism industry needs to benefit our people and our country.”
It is now official that Seychelles is back in the UK, and setting-up a new office with an all-Seychellois staff is the first step in this process.
An announcements on the reopening will be made during a press conference at the WTM by Vice-President Joseph Belmont and Mr St Ange. |
