The Ministry of Education has completed its 2013 -2017 Medium Term Strategic (MTS) plan and has presented a draft of the document to its partners and other stakeholders for their views with the aim of filling any gaps before it is finalised.

The completion of the draft document follows five missions of technical assistance from the International Institute of Education Planning (IIEP), two internal validation sessions and on-line collaboration with international and local partners.

Taking part in the discussion session were officials and key stakeholders from different government ministries and departments including Ministry of Finance, Trade and Investment, Ministry of Health, Department of Public Administration, representative of Unesco National Commission, Institute of Early Childhood Development (IECD), Seychelles Qualifications Authority (SQA), Tertiary Education Commission (TEC), National Bureau of Statistics and the Red Cross.

Selby Dora, the Focal Point for the MTS and Dr Linda Barallon, the director general for Policy Planning and Research in the Ministry of Education, introduced the various topics and aspects of the draft document before Mr Dora led the discussion session.

All inputs and recommendations collected from this validation session will be analysed and incorporated in the draft document where necessary before a final draft is presented to the Cabinet of Ministers.
