Hair styles young people are crazy about |05 September 2013
Hairstyles are predominately about shape and geometry. It's all about putting the perfect frame around a person's face to balance and bring perspective to the overall shape. If the wrong hairstyle is created for the wrong face shape, the result is a disaster. If a well executed, well cut hairstyle is performed on the wrong face shape, the result is still a disaster.
A good hairstylist will just know instinctively what shape will or won't suit you. It is also very important and handy for you to understand face shape suitability as well as it will help you to understand what does and does not work for you and why.
School going children have also become fashion conscious these days. They are quite aware of the latest fashion trends and want to look stylish even in their school uniform. That is why they can be seen frequenting the beauty salons to get that perfect hairstyle for school. Hairstyles for schools must be such that it is comfortable and low fuss. Moreover, they must not be too loud. It should be cute and must go with the face cut. Otherwise, the result could be negative. So, utmost care needs to be taken while selecting hairstyles for schools.
Hairstyles for schools also have a lot of variety despite the fact that schools are places where only simple and sober hairstyles can be worn. Short and middle length hair is best for schools. They can be styled in various ways with pins, bands and other accessories to get a cute look. Braided tails and ponytails are the most common and preferable hairstyle that can be seen in schools. You can also keep them open for a more vibrant and flamboyant look
ww.nation.sc went to visit one of the most popular barber shops that schoolchildren or youths in general mostly go to to have their hair cut and styled.
Mohawk and tribal designs are preferred hairstyles among the young people
During a visit to We Care Salon at La Poudrière run by Ralph Sarah, it was revealed that the Mohawk and tribal design with faded cut out on the hairline are the most popular with youths these days. Such designs are not suitable for schools. “Young people who call at the salon for various hairstyles are from Primary 4 to post secondary institutions,” said Ralph. “They decide their own hairstyle especially for parties, weddings. They want to have a new look or a classic style.”
Ralph said sometimes he advises them on other styles to fit their face feature but it’s very difficult to convince them to do otherwise.
“My clients though are generally happy with the service offered by We Care Salon and they keep returning. We also cater for ladies’ hairstyles and one of the most popular styles they go for are tinted hair.”
Ralph markets his barber shop business through word of mouth and sometimes television advertisements.
At Lorna’s Hairdressing Salon mostly more mature ladies in their thirties onwards frequent that place for their hairdressing service. They prefer the normal hairdressing style like curls from rollers, relax and treat and blow dry to name a few. But generally most hairdressing businesses cater for all ages and it must be noted that Seychellois people really look after and care for their hair – both genders.
At Chez Vania they go the extra mile to make their clients happy and satisfied as they take time to advise them on the hairstyle that better suits them. They also advise on after care treatment by suggesting to them on the best styling gel or hair cream suitable for their types of hair.
