Three boxers leave for world championships |09 October 2013

Jovette Jean, Keddy Agnes and Andrique Allisop left the country yesterday to take part in the 2013 International Amateur Boxing Association (IABA) World Boxing Championship.

The tournament will be held in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, and our three boxers will be testing themselves against some of the world’s top boxers.

The AIBA World Championships is the signature event on the AIBA calendar going back 39 years to its beginnings in 1974 when the AIBA Men's World Championships made its debut in one of the heartlands of boxing – Havana, Cuba.

The three boxers are being accompanied by coaches Jerry Legras and Rival Payet, who will both also be attending exam sessions to enhance their coaching qualifications.

The three boxers will be aiming to do their best to fly the Seychelles flag high.
 
They are expected back in the country on October 26.
