Father and son country duo come ‘out of the grey’ with new album |27 November 2004

Aptly named Out of the Grey, this new album, according to David, was realized only after his father, Danny, who is also the lead singer, managed to eventually pull through a major stroke in August 2002 that left  him partially paralyzed and without the ability to talk.
 
"Only through extensive therapies, sheer determination and support did he regain most of his physical and speaking abilities, including the return of his ever distinctive singing voice," says David.

Born out of these testing times, Out of the Grey was recorded over an eight-month period during 2004 at Werner Schulz’s Greenhut Studio in Glacis.

The album, according to the Deltels, not only equals its predecessor in terms of recording quality, but exceeds it in many ways including musically.
 
Containing 13 new songs, 12 of which have been written and composed by David, the album includes the voices of Danny and David as well as the amazing voice of popular female singer, Stella Nibourette, who also featured on Danny and David’s first release.

Produced by Danny, David and Werner Schulz of Greenhut, popular musicians, in the likes of Jack Yokowo, Vivian Amelie, David Andre and backing singer Antoinette Dodin, have also lent their talents for the recordings.

“I believe that, in life, everything happens for a reason. The pain we’ve been through as a family has only served to make this album even more rewarding.  I am very proud of my father and we are thrilled to share a piece of our souls with the people of Seychelles,” says David.

The songs vary in message, rhythm and tempo and touch on emotions that people experience during one’s journey through life.

 “Personally, this has been my greatest achievement,” says Danny. “This one is even sweeter than our first and I dedicate it to all our fans, to God and to all those who have supported me”.

Out Of The Grey comes just in time for Christmas and makes a wonderful present for all music lovers. Available on CD, copies can be purchased from selected music outlets on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue including Ray’s Music Room, Kot Baba, Kot Do and Remy’s (Victoria Arcade) for SR135 a copy.
