Joe Samy releases collection of his most popular songs |29 January 2005
Seychelles Blue is in fact the title of one of Joe’s creations released in 1989 and which also features on this collection.
Joe, who has a predilection for the blue colour, says that he is fascinated by the different hues of blue present in our rich biodiversity.
“There’s a whole gamut of blue here. The sky, the sea, they've all got a mixture of blues,” said the local artist.
Seychelles que j’aime, Don’t let them die, La sezon Kreol, are some of the songs which will surely bring back sweet memories to his many fans.
Joe, who took part in the Acoustic Café show alongside Patrick Victor and Ralf Amesbury, says that he has also included some live tracks from this show, namely Rev perdi, La Digue, Island Blue and Café au lait girl.
Giving the reason behind releasing this collection, Joe says that since some of these songs like Zoli Seselwaz and Sanze had been previously released on cassettes only, many of his fans were asking for CD versions.
Seychelles Blue is on sale at local music outlets in Victoria.
And don’t forget Joe will perform some of the tracks on Seychelles Blue at tomorrow’s solidarity concert at the SMB Exhibition Hall.
The artist, who also sings about nature, has said that he is presently working on a new album which is expected to be released soon.
