Golf: Sunset Beach Hotel competition-Ah-Moye cruises to victory |18 February 2005
There were plenty of good scores after the front nine despite the heat. Edwin Palmer, William Weidner and Ah-Moye all walked in with splendid 20s. The field remained wide open as at least 11 other players had scores of 17 or better.
Palmer crashed out with a paltry 12 on the back nine. Louis Vandagne came in with a total of 35 points, beating William on the count-back rule.
Former club captain Dudu Chudasama, with a first nine score of 17 points, was the first to lay claim to the title as he led the field with a total of 36 points at the end of the back nine.
But it was Ah-Moye who weathered the heat of the day to card another 20 points to gain first place with a total 40 points. Dudu settled for second place with 36 points and Vandagne took third position with 35 points.
The sponsor, Sunset Beach Hotel, was represented by Patrick Hoareau who gave away the prizes and expressed the hotel's keen desire to continue sponsoring golf here.
Club captain Zee Rizvi thanked the sponsor for its support.
