Mr S.K Naqi elected chairman of bankers association |15 March 2005

Mr Naqi, who will hold the chairmanship for one year, was elected in a meeting held on January 27. He replaces Mr R.C Behl, the chief executive of the Bank of Baroda.

Mr J. Ah-Yu from the Mauritius Commercial Bank was also elected as the treasurer and Mr Frank Hoareau of Barclays Bank as the auditor for this year.

The Seychelles Bankers Association works to ensure that the banking environment in the country is moving along with the developments in other countries and acts as a body for communicating with the regulators and authorities on banking practice and regulations.
