Death of Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd-President Michel sends condolences |02 August 2005

“King Fahd was a leading statesman, a charismatic leader and a man of vision who transformed Saudi Arabia into a modern, stable and prosperous Nation.  The tremendous achievements of Saudi Arabia testify to his wisdom and vision.  We shall miss him,” says President Michel in his message.

“The Government and the people of the Republic of Seychelles join me in conveying to you, personally, to the Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia our deepest condolences,” adds the message.

Meanwhile the government has declared a two-day mourning period, effective Monday, and as such all Seychelles National flags should be flown at half mast from 0600hrs to 1800hrs.
