Mr Ramoinsingh’s performance earned him a R1,000 cash prize while Rodney Henriette of the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort came in second, claimed R800, and Ron Barbe of Le Meridien Barbarons placed third for R500. The top three winners received trophies, in addition to the cash prizes, all of which was sponsored by the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB).
The main sponsor of this year’s competition was Trois Freres Distillery, as well as the Coral Strand, Seychelles Breweries, Longobardi and Amusement Centre, in addition to STB.
The competition was organised by the Sensitisation and Awareness Unit of STB, with assistance from professional bartenders in the tourism industry.
Past winners of the bartending competition were Jones Anacoura of Lemuria Resort in 2004, Terrence Cedras of Amusement Centre in 2003, Andrew Mounac of Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay in 2002 and Berty Cedras of Fregate Island in 2001.
