Spanish duet to perform on October 14 |11 October 2005
Entrance to the concert, which will start at 7 p.m., is free of charge.
Before flying to Seychelles, the duet is expected to stage a performance today in Addis Ababa.
Marina Bollain has a Masters in Opera Stage Management specializing in video and in opera singing.
As a soprano, Marina worked in the Komische Opera in Berlin, the Rostock Opera and the Leipzig opera, giving concerts, among others, in the Scauspielhaus (Berlin), Kammermusiksaal der Philarmonie (Berlin), Georg Friedrich Händel Halle (Halle) or the Frauenkirche de Dresden. In addition, she has recorded three CDs of Spanish music.
She has worked as actress in different film and television productions in Madrid and Seville (winning the prize for best actress in the Gijón Film Festival in 1992) and she has also been a dance teacher.
She was a scholarship holder in the Spanish Academy in Rome specializing in Stage Art in 1999 and was granted different scholarships by the Ministry of Culture to study stage management in Berlin from 2002 to 2003.
Born in 1975 in Leipzig, Dorothea Brinkmann studied with Professor Inge Wilxzok in the Music High School “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin between 1993 and 1997.
She was granted the special scholarship for artists in the Cusanuswerk between 1996 and 2000.
From 1998 she was chosen to give concerts for the Yehudi Menuhun Foundation. She took courses with Tadashi Sasake, Costas Cotsiolis, David Starobin, Tilman Hoppstock and Christoph Prégardien.
Her specialization is chamber concerts.
She has worked together with Marina for three years.
