Members of the public, too, are being called upon to play their part in protecting this resource by reporting any illegal lobster fishing outside the authorized season to the Seychelles Fishing Authority (Tel 670 300) or to the nearest Police Station.
Any person fishing for lobsters without a valid licence could be prosecuted and fined up to R10,000, if found guilty.
The 2005/2006 lobster fishing season is open for a period of two months (from December 1, 2005 to January 31, 2006).
The annual Christmas Fair organised by the Small Enterprise Promotion Agency (SenPA) was officially launched yesterday by the Minister for Economic Planning & Employment Jacquelin Dugasse. Clothes for both children and adults, household decor and accessories, craft items, are among the wide range of locally made products on display. Visitors have until Saturday to visit the fair.
