President Michel congratulates new Bolivian, Portuguese presidents |25 January 2006
In his message to the new Bolivian President, H.E. Evo Morales, President Michel writes:
“Your election as President of the Republic of Bolivia affords me the opportunity to convey to you, on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles, our warmest and most sincere congratulations.
“I have no doubt that through our common effort, especially via the vehicle on multilateral diplomacy, the friendly relations between our two countries will be further strengthened for the prosperity and progress of our two countries.”
In a separate message to the new President of Portugal, H.E. Anibal Cavaco Silva, President Michel says:
“It gives me great pleasure to extend on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles, our warmest and most sincere felicitations to you on your assumption to the office of President of the Government of Portugal.
“Your election is a clear manifestation of the trust and confidence that the people of Portugal have reposed in your leadership.
“Seychelles and Portugal enjoy friendly and cordial relations based on mutual understanding and respect. I look forward to collaborating with you to further enhance these relations.”
