Fundraising for boat accident victim-Singers of Charity raises R4,000 so far |11 February 2006
The money was raised during a show the group performed at the children's playground at Baie Ste Anne, Praslin, last Saturday.
A first show planned to be held the day before at the Victoria Bus Terminal did not take place.
According to the leader of the group, Sonny Dogley, efforts to raise more funds for Micky are still on as his group is planning to go back to Praslin for a second performance, this time indoors, towards the end of this month.
Sonny also noted that a company on Praslin which has requested anonymity has promised to sponsor an air ticket for Micky to follow treatment overseas should the need arises.
Sonny would also like to thank Hotel L'Ocean and Ms Barbara Jensen of La Digue for their support.
Meanwhile Sonny has announced that after this fundraising activity he will be taking a break from the group's activities to concentrate on finding the support of a producer for the release by July of his new reggae album entitled Faith.
Sonny is calling on anyone who would like to sponsor him in this endeavour to get in touch with him on telephone 594859 or email soc@seychelles.sc
