International food caterer plans vast Seychelles launch |02 December 2006

The official launch, which will be held on Wednesday, December 6 at the company’s new custom warehouse at SIBA, will feature not only the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, but also live demonstrations and wine-tasting using ISPC products, featuring two top Michelin-rated chefs – Yves Matagne and Stéphane Pierre – together with Belgium’s most famous wine expert, Eric Boschmann.

The opening will allow ISPC, one of the largest and most specialised food caterers in the Benelux region in Europe, to show hoteliers and restaurateurs in Seychelles the products and services it has to offer. ISPC’s services and products are being made available only to TIA holders in Seychelles.

Earlier this year, ISPC, together with Seychelles’ honorary consul in Belgium, Philippe de Baets, announced plans to provide a service in Seychelles that would allow hotels and restaurants throughout the islands to source commodities via a “one-stop shop.”

With some 72,000 food, non-food and drink specialties, ISPC has been described as a “Disneyland for chefs.”

The official launching of ISPC will be an all-day affair from 3-11 p.m. for invited guests, and will be attended by Vice-President Joseph Belmont, the chairman and CEO of ISPC International, Alfred-Alain Fourcroy, along with a host of other dignitaries and representatives from the tourism sector and other industries.

Later in the week, ISPC, the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) and local partners will be organising a collaboration between the visiting chefs and a handful of Seychellois chefs and headwaiters, for a special dinner with selected tourism partners at the new La Détente Restaurant at Roche Caiman on Friday, December 8.

Together, the Belgian and Seychellois chefs will create a special menu for the dinner using a combination of ISPC products and local produce found in the market in Victoria, while various wait staff will be able to learn more about wine and wine service.

The evening will allow the local industry get a feel for ISPC’s services and products in a restaurant setting, while promoting valuable exchanges for Seychellois professionals in the industry.
