The Department of Public Administration has announced that Saturday May 12, 2007 has been declared a public holiday on account of the National Assembly election.

Although voting for the 2007 National Assembly election starts on May 10 on the outer islands, Saturday May 12 is the main polling day when the majority of voters on the three main islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue will go to the polls.
