STB wins special appreciation award for “best supporting tourism board” at Emirates Holidays Brochur

Julie Muirhead, STB’s Regional Manager for the Middle East Market, collects the special appreciation award from Tony Williams and John Felix of Emirates Holidays Accepting the award was Julie Muirhead, STB’s regional manager for the Middle East market, of the Mohamed Al Geziry Consultancy in Dubai, which has led a number of initiatives with Emirates Holidays toward achieving the award.

 

“This award is a great honour for STB and it shows the commitment, support and creative energy we’ve put behind our strong partnership with Emirates Holidays, who are our top producer for the Middle East,” said Ms Muirhead. “Seychelles is a relatively new destination for Emirates, and we’ve made great strides in a short amount of time. We have a very strong relationship with Emirates and Emirates Holidays and their support is invaluable.”

 

The Emirates Holidays Brochure Launch is an annual travel fair regrouping travel agents working with Emirates’ Tour Operator arm across the globe, in addition to attracting travel consumers.  More than 400 travel agents and 4,000 consumers attended the launch this year.

 

According to John Felix, Vice-President of Emirates Holidays, who introduced the Special Appreciation Award for the first time for NTOs, the ‘Best Support’ award was “based on the level of activity and support provided to promote Seychelles, pro-actively and creatively working with us on tactical promotions and working independently to create and raise awareness with the consumer direct.”

 

Last year, Seychelles won the award for the “Most Informative Stand” at the event, which was voted anonymously by the 400 travel agents at the event.

 

Travel agents participate in interactive educational games in the Seychelles booth at the Emirates Holidays Brochure launchWith this year’s theme for the Brochure Launch revolving around children and travel, STB and Creole Travel Services teamed up to provide a creative children’s campaign, with games and competitions about Seychelles for children visiting the fair, to allow them to relate to the new brand and generate excitement for what they can experience in the Seychelles, with a focus on the unique aspects of the destination as well as educating the parents about the destination.

 

A two-day Travel Trade Game concept was also launched to interactively educate the travel trade on all the niche aspects of the Seychelles.
