Seychelles University Foundation-CEOs agree to contribute one day's salary per month

They made the pledge at the extraordinary meeting of the CEO Forum held on Wednesday,The CEOs and other guests at the meeting on Wednesday following the official opening by President James Michel.

According to a communique from the office of Dr Rolph Payet, who is the chairman of the Seychelles University Foundation, this was announced by the new chairman of the CEO Forum, Jean-Paul Adam, following a proposition by one chief executive.

“Mr Adam, on behalf of all CEOs, expressed support for the initiative and called upon all CEOs to engage their organisations in this important initiative. He said he is very touched by the fact that several members of the public have now come forward to pledge even a small contribution to the initiative. This is encouraging and government should encourage its employees to do so as well,” the communique said.

On his part Dr Payet, who was also present at the opening of the meeting yesterday, welcomed the gesture and stated that it is an investment for the future of Seychelles and for the Government of the future.

He stressed the need for the Seychelles University to become a contributor to the transformation of Government to become more efficient and strategic in its planning.

He further explained that the foundation has adopted an open door policy and wishes to hear from all government, especially as to how they can contribute to the development of the University.
