Football: Women’s League-Olympia Coast keep title |08 November 2007
This year’s league title win is Olympia Coast’s fifth in the last seven years, winning in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007.
It is to note that Olympia Coast also claimed this year’s season-opening Patron’s Cup with a 4-1 victory over Dolphins in a dramatic penalty shoot-out at Stad Linite in May.
United Sisters have finished as runners-up after four wins and one defeat for 13 points, scoring 12 goals and conceding five.
With four points after a win, a draw and four defeats, Praslin-based Ste Anne United, who were crowned champions in 2005, have had to accept finishing third with four points, while former champions Dolphins have finished at the foot of the standings with just three points after only one win in six games played.
