Community Development, Youth, Sports and Culture minister Vincent Meriton, who also attended the Games, was on the same flight back home.
Shuttlers Georgie Cupidon and Juliette Ah-Wan are the only two athletes who have returned along with Aniessa Benstrong and Dave Bonnelame who took part in the youth camp. Sports doctor Kenneth Sherwin is also back.
Paired in the mixed doubles, the Olympic rookies lost their round-of-16-match on a 0-2 (8-21, 19-21) score after 21 minutes of play to Kostiuczyk Nadiezda and Robert Mateusiak of Poland on Tuesday August 12.
Ah-Wan and Cupidon were Seychelles’ first badminton pair to qualify for the Olympic Games.
The country’s illustrious mixed doubles duo finished first in Africa with 10,700 points in the Badminton World Federation rankings.
