Football will remain strong in 2009 |24 December 2008

Female player of the year César    Male player of the year Zialor

Striker Philip Zialor retained the male player of the year title to bring to three his number of wins. The 32-year-old St Michel and Seychelles striker first won the player of the year title in 1997.

The women’s title went to United Sisters’ 23-year-old midfielder Vesna César, who has now won the title twice after her first in 2005.

Present at the ceremony held at the Maison Football, Roche Caïman, were representatives of sponsors, SFF executive committee members, the award winners and other guests.

Mr Patel thanked all involved in the running of the game and said: “Football is not me or the executive committee. It is you the players, coaches, trainers, managers, sponsors and all those involved in football.

“I’m proud when I see so many people involved in football. Thank you for all you are doing for Seychelles football and for the Seychellois youth.”
